Biography series
Written and illustrated beautifully with brightly colored pencil drawings these books are about America’s famous builders and American folktales. George Washington (1936) is the first of seven books celebrating the lives of explorers, discoverers and prominent figures of America. Most of the books have been republished in paperback; however, the hard covers have superior paper quality with more vivid illustrations.
Popular amongst homeschoolers D’Auliare’s Book of Greek Myths has 200 oversized pages of mythology stories, family trees, full page illustrations and maps. This book has been republished in paperback, as well.
Tips for parents and teachers: Biographies of American heroes and presidents should be complimented with other children’s biographies by other authors. This gives the children the understanding that the books are interpretations with facts of each topic.
